Elizabeth, the Queen: An intriguing deep dive into Queen Elizabeth I’s life as a woman and a monarch
but this book focused far too much on Elizabeth love life (or lack of it
This historical review of Elisabeth's history as Queen was nowhere near as gripping as her historical novel describing Elizabeth childhood.

'focus on the personal'
The topic seems well researched, however with changes in names through peerage titles it is sometimes hard to identify who is who.

Superb
Having read Weir's non-fiction, The Princes in the Tower, and thoroughly enjoyed it, I knew that this biography of Queen Elizabeth I would be worth investing in as well.

Brilliant and detailed
I read The Virgin's Lover by Philippa Gregory and was disturbed about the rather rabid anti-elizabeth tenor and could not empathise with the deeply humane and genteel qualities that Mary Tudor had been attributed in the book considering her reputation Bloody Mary.
